How it is achieved
Misting systems are completed in one of two ways. One being a standard misting line having nozzles disperses micro droplets into the air that is evaporated. Most barns already have air movement via large fans circulating the air so the addition of the misting lines is strategic. If no fans are available yet in the barns then we can look at the second option of misting by using our range of large to smaller oscillating fans. The misting nozzles are placed on the fans and again with proper planning the misting fans are placed to achieve both misting coverage as well providing the circulation of the cooled air.
When ultra-fine water droplets by our misting nozzles are introduced into the atmosphere, they quickly absorb the energy present in the environment and boil off (evaporate). The energy (heat) that is used to produce this state change from liquid to gas is eliminated from the atmosphere; hence the air is cooled by the process called evaporative cooling. By using a specific misting pump operating from 800 to 1200 PSI evaporation cooling is achieved.
